Questions about electricity prices
Why is the price sometimes below zero?
On sunny or windy days more power is produced than needed. Some plants cannot switch off quickly, so they pay to keep producing. Most tariffs still add taxes and fees, so your total usually stays above zero.
What does the estimated total include?
The wholesale price plus supplier margin, grid fee, taxes and VAT. Set your own values in Total price; every page then uses them.
Hourly or 15-minute prices – which applies to me?
Since 1 October 2025 the auction sets a price for every 15 minutes. Many suppliers still bill the hourly average. Your contract says which.
When are tomorrow’s prices published?
Usually around 12:45 Central European time, after the auction closes at 12:00. Delays to about 14:00 are possible.
